THE ANCIENT SITE OF ABU - Elephantine Island

At the southern end of Elephantine Island is the Aswan Museum and an extensive archaeological site. Having toured the Museum we will set off to explore the ruins of the ancient city of Abu.

Highlights of the tour of Abu city will include: the Temples of Satis, Khnum and Pepinakht-Heqaib; a small step-pyramid; a study of the layers of the city from Old Kingdom to Roman times; and an examination of its fortifications, and the famous Nilometers.
