The Nubian Museum
Opened in 1997, the Nubian Museum is one
of the most modern and well designed museums in Egypt. It boasts
7000 sqm. of museum buildings and 43000 sqm. of outdoor exhibits
set in lovely gardens. Many masterpieces from other museums in
Egypt were brought to Aswan for display here, along with statues
from Elephantine Island. Displays are arranged chronologically
and are explained in detail via information boards. Explore the
history of Nubia from most ancient times, through the ages of
the Pharaohs, Greeks and Romans, from pagan to Christian and Muslim
religious traditions, and enjoy the folk-culture panoramas.
