The Nubian Museum

Opened in 1997, the Nubian Museum is one of the most modern and well designed museums in Egypt. It boasts 7000 sqm. of museum buildings and 43000 sqm. of outdoor exhibits set in lovely gardens. Many masterpieces from other museums in Egypt were brought to Aswan for display here, along with statues from Elephantine Island. Displays are arranged chronologically and are explained in detail via information boards. Explore the history of Nubia from most ancient times, through the ages of the Pharaohs, Greeks and Romans, from pagan to Christian and Muslim religious traditions, and enjoy the folk-culture panoramas.
