Sehel Island

The international travel can be very tiring, so our first trip is a 'recovery day' - lots to see and do, but at a gentle pace. We sail in a traditional felucca boat to the Island of Sehel in the heart of the First Cataract, rounding palm-dotted islands, through whirling waters and past the red/yellow sands of the Sahara Desert falling into the blue waters of the Nile. On Sehel we visit some of the hundreds of ancient inscriptions of the isle. The hand-made beads of Sehel are famous - maybe you would like to buy some for yourself or a friend?.
