THE TEMPLE OF KHNUM AT ESNA

The Temple of Khnum at Esna was built during
the Ptolemaic period, with decorative elements added during Roman
times. The surviving parts of the temple boast most interesting
relief in honour of emperor such as Vespasian, Titus, Domitian,
Antoninus Pius, Septimius Severus, Trajan and Decius. This seldom-visited
temple has some amazingly well preserved colours, especially on
the floral column capitals.
